Branding Yourself

I want to take a few minutes to talk about a subject that I have been getting bombarded with lately. A concept that has been around for quite awhile, called attraction marketing. What it basically is all about is getting people to come to you instead of you going to them. It is really no different than what every company does through advertising and branding. Instead of you selling your business through cold calling and talking to everyone within 3 feet of your mouth about your opportunity, you simply sell yourself. How do you sell yourself? That is up to you, but most people in MLM or network marketing do it through blogging, video blogs, radio interviews, magazine articles, or audio training CD's, and DVD's, or they may go as far as publishing a book as my upline has done. In Real Estate you will see local folks putting their pictures in the newspaper, on their signs, or on their business cards. Self promote, self promote is the name of the game. This is what your company doesn't really want you to do. Because it could set you up to possibly go out and compete, just read the next paragraph.

I have a friend who at one time was the #1 salesman for Terminix. "He said, people don't buy Terminix when they buy from me, they buy Willie Payne". You see, Willie understood that it was all about self promotion and that is exactly what he did. When you drove around with Willie you saw excitement, you saw energy, you saw charisma, you saw Willie, than you saw his company. When Willie walked into an office the room lit up. Women would literally jump out of their seats in excitement to see Willie and give him a big hug. Willie didn't look like Brad Pitt or Denzel Washington. He was a very large African American Male with a personality to die for. Willie is one of the most successful people I know, and he lives life large and loves his life and community. He has since left Terminix to start his own business and he is doing just fine, because Willie has always promoted Willie. Promote yourself in your business and not your company and the sky is the limit. Besides if your company does ever go out of business people will remember you, not the company you represent.

I agree about branding. Actually my newsletter is about attraction marketing that I give out after people visit my site. I believe branding is one of the main ways to promote a business or product!

I like your hubpage.
